About Tempus Choral Society
The Tempus Choral Society is a community SATB choir of 20 years for singers 18 years of age and over. With over 90 members, from Hamilton to Toronto! Tempus boasts a varied musical repertoire including Sacred, Broadway, Jazz, Classical, Gospel and Contemporary. Tempus performs throughout the year with major concerts during December and May.
Tempus has two mandates:
Our membership is made up of singers from all walks of life with many from the professional community. They come to Tempus to have fun producing choral music of the highest standard. New members are welcome during the fall and at selected times during the year arranged with the Director of Membership.
We are grateful to have the support of the Oakville Arts council, the Oakville community Foundation, Lions International, Choirs Ontario and Knox Oakvile.
Tempus has two mandates:
- to promote excellence and joy in choral music both in Ontario and on a National and International level through concerts and choral festivals
- to foster musical growth in youth by offering them scholarships and mentoring them in the adult choir..
- to help fund noteworthy local causes by raising money through performances and sales of our CD's
